Description:

The CAYL Institute presents the CAYL Catalyst Webinar Series, Episode 5 – Families with Young Children: Strength and Resilience. Join us for this insightful conversation about current challenges, research, opportunities, and innovation centered on families with young children. June 3, 2021 from 4-5pm EST.

How well are families faring these days – and how can we help them to cope and thrive in today’s world? How is family life changing in the 21st century – and what are the implications for teaching and raising young children? How can employers, schools, and families support and strengthen greater opportunity for equity for children of color? What should our society do next to be more family-friendly?

Our panel of experts will tackle these questions and more during our webinar on June 3, 2021 from 4-5pm EST. Our keynote speaker, Ellen Galinsky, is President of the Family and Work Institute, Chief Science Officer at the Bezos Family Foundation and Executive Director of Mind in the Making. Panelist Roberto Jiménez Rivera is a Chelsea School Board Member and political organizer for the Boston Teachers Union, advocating for many antiracist issues, including equitable state funding for schools and diversifying the workforce. Panelist Tamara Johnson is the Executive Director of Malaika Early Learning Center who works collaboratively with families to establish a strong academic, social and emotional foundation in the lives of Milwaukee’s economically disadvantaged children.
